About Westmore Outreach

The world in our handsWestmore’s outreach strategy is based on the Acts 1:8 Model, which compels us to be witnesses in “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth.”  Put another way, this means we should extol the good news of Christ in our community, region and nation, and world.  Westmore’s outreach strategy is developed and overseen by the Global Evangelism Team (GET), which ensures that all funds are spent with prayerful consideration, as the needs around the block and around the world are many.  The GET’s focus is to build long-term, sustainable partnerships that provide the best opportunity for impact.  The 2021 GET members are:

  • Kelvin Page
  • Greg Johnson
  • Kyle Page
  • Barry Ray
  • Zach Clevenger
  • Mike Watkins
  • Vera Voznyuk

Westmore Outreach is funded through the generosity and passion of our members to reach their community, nation and world for Christ. Click here to see how Westmore spends its outreach dollars.

Projects

Westmore reaches out to the community, nation, and world by supporting specific initiatives that highlight God’s love and compassion.  These initiatives are carefully prayed for and considered, and are as follows (for more information about any of them, please contact the church).

Community Projects (our “Jerusalem”)

The Caring Place

The Caring Place was co-founded by Westmore and the church has continued to support it since its inception. This organization serves our community by distributing groceries to families at poverty level or below, gives ready to wear clothing, provides professional social work services, and serves the people with spiritual food through prayer. Westmore supports the Caring Place through dedicated offerings once or twice a year as well as through monthly support.  Many Westmore members volunteer their time to support The Caring Place as well.

Foundation House Ministries

Westmore is an ardent supporter of this ministry, which provides both services and solutions to women in crisis. Foundation House provides residential care to expecting mothers who escaped dangerous domestic situations. Besides housing, the organization offers daily financial and employment classes, empowerment workshops, court-ordered family support, and strives to resource the women to become strong, stable, and effective parents.

Anchor Point Foundation

Westmore has been partnering with the Anchor Point for several years during which it has helped dozens of individuals to address addiction issues that have derailed their lives. Anchor Point Foundation is dedicated to helping men and women bound by life-controlling addictions, usually drugs and alcohol, as well as their families. Among other services, the organization assists in finding appropriate Christ-centered rehabilitation facilities.

Fellowship Of Christian Athletes

Westmore has been a long-term supporter of the local FCA chapter, which is an interdenominational Christian sports ministry dedicated to impacting the world for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. FCA has been a staple on university campuses since 1966 and is led by student-athletes and coaches on junior high, high school and college campuses. For more information about Westmore’s support of FCA, please contact Robert Green at rgreen@fca.org.

Bradley County Juvenile Justice Department

In partnership with the Bradley County Juvenile Justice Department, Westmore sponsors boxed lunches for children whose parents are involved in court actions. It is a heart-breaking time for the children who are often victims of broken homes and challenging situation, which often includes drugs and other issues. These boxed lunches ensure that children are well fed while waiting for the outcome of their parents’ legal action.  Our support is an opportunity to share Christ’s love with the children and introduce them to the mentorship program, which was begun by Westmore and is now transitioning to the U-Turn Institute.

New Hope Pregnancy Center

For many years Westmore has supported NHPC through monthly financial support, diaper drives, and fundraising events, such as the marathons. This outreach provides free ultrasound, options counselling, pregnancy and parenting coaching, adoption education, mentoring, post-abortion recovery groups, miscarriage recovery, and other services to women who otherwise would have few options.

In addition, many members of the Westmore Family reach out to our community through special activities, such as provision of Thanksgiving meals, interface with schools, et al.  It is all part of Westmore’s giving spirit!

Regional/National Projects (our “Judea and Samaria”)

Smoky Mountain Children’s Home

Westmore assists the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home with financial support, music ministry, as well as providing Christmas gifts to the children and staff.  SMCH is a private, faith based, not-for-profit agency which exists to provide care, love, and healing to children and youth who have no one else to advocate or care for them.  SMCH also seeks to place children in loving Christ-centered families through foster care and adoption.

Operation Compassion

Westmore supports Operation Compassion through strong special offerings especially in times of crisis and natural disasters, helping people and churches rebuild after losing everything. Teams are also sent to assist in rebuilding process, when possible. Most recently it provided financial support and supplies to communities effected by the ice storms in Texas. Lead Pastor, Kelvin Page, is the current President of Operation Compassion, which provides Westmore a great opportunity for partnership and global  missions impact.

Men & Women of Action

Westmore partners with MWOA by providing financial support, as well as man-power for several church building projects in the United States, helping struggling congregations to move forward to effectively reach their regions for the Lord.

Church Planting

Westmore has a long history of training church planters through our CPX (Church Planting Experience) and has successfully planted churches in Memphis, TN, Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Las Vegas, NV, Salt Lake City, UT, and other places around the country.

Pastor Kelvin Page

Pastoral Training

Lead Pastor Kelvin Page regularly trains pastors throughout the United States and abroad through an intensive program that consists of mentorship, shadowing, and content. For more information contact the church.

International Projects (“Ends of the Earth”)

Cuba

Westmore has planted ten churches in Cuba over the past decade. We are partnering with two groups in this poor country with precious people: The Church of God in Cuba and Honoring the Father Sports Ministries. We have seen thousands of young people come to Christ through these ministries. Besides financial support, we often send teams to train leaders and to minister to men, women, and youth.

Nepal

For the past several years, Westmore has partnered with a missionary in Nepal who is training pastors and leaders. We have sponsored the Nepal Bible School for a few years and sent leaders to encourage Nepalese pastors. Additionally, some Westmore members have raised funds on their own for pastoral training in Nepal. Our new endeavor with the Nepal missions will also involve medical missions. For more information on the 2019 medical mission to Nepal, please contact Zach Clevenger at zclevenger@westmorechurch.com.

Global Fire Advance

Westmore partners with Ronnie Hepperly and the GFA (formerly known as the African Firewall). This ministry goes into countries in the 10/40 window area where nobody goes to due to dangerous political and religious environment. The GFA model makes it easy to share the gospel, so anyone interested in reaching out to hard-to-reach people groups can undergo training in advance of participating in a GFA group.

Mongolia-Asia Reach

Westmore is partnering with missionaries in the region to spread the gospel in one of the most challenging areas of the world.  Mongolia and surrounding Asian countries are the home to billions of people who are searching for the hope that only Christ can bring.  Westmore provides funding for materials, outreach, and infrastructure to take the gospel to this under-reached people group.
