Ensembles, Soloist and Musicians
Ensembles are formed by the Minister of Music and are made up of choir members. Selection is based on sight-reading, vocal and blending ability as well as choral experience and audition.
From time to time established ensembles will have an opening and choir members in good standing may be asked to audition as a replacement.
The Minister of Music bases selection on the individuals’ audition and experience.
The role of an accompanist is a privileged one with unique and challenging responsibilities. The individual who provides accompaniment for worship must possess special skills and sensitivities, which go far beyond the musical expectations for his/her role.
The Heritage choir is an exciting way for all ages to become active participants in music ministry singing songs we love to sing from our heritage. This group meets and rehearses throughout the year.
Westmore Music Academy
Westmore Music Academy began in the Fall of 2004. Westmore Church of God has so many talented musicians that we wanted to pass on our musical knowledge to the community and to ensure that Westmore’s newer generations continue to hold music as a high standard. The Academy offers the Cleveland area instruction in the development of musical skills which bring enrichment to life and increased opportunities for Christian Ministry. Through private and group lessons students receive training in note reading, music theory and aural discrimination while gaining knowledge of instrumental practice techniques. The Music Department at Westmore is pleased to perform and minister in many unique and creative productions throughout the entire year. As we continue to grow and our productions get more innovative, we are always interested in ways more people can add their efforts and talents beyond singing and playing musical instruments to make these productions even more effective. If you have experience or want to help out in the areas listed below, the Westmore Music Department would be more than interested in speaking with you about your contribution to future productions!
