Westmore Kid’s Ministry
We join hearts and hands with parents and community as we challenge kids to know, own, live, and share their faith in Jesus. From our large group encounter to our small group experience; children are captured, engaged, and transformed by the Word of God. Throughout the year, our weekly discipleship and special events challenge kids and families to live out their radical faith journey!
New to Westmore?
Westmore Children’s Ministries are divided into three main zones: Nursery (birth-23 months); Presschool (2 years-5 years old); and Elementary (K-5th grade). Our main parking lot entrance will take you right into the children’s wing, from birth through 5th grade. The K-5 check-in center will be on your immediate right as you enter through the main double glass doors by the playground. The Preschool (2yrs-5yrs) check-in is a little further down the hall to the left, and the Nursery (birth-23 months) is half way down the hall to the left. Your children will remain safely in these areas until you come to pick them up again. We are committed to providing the safest atmosphere possible for your children.
Our Children’s Ministries
Sunday Kid’s Ministries
Elementary Kids Service
The elementary kid’s service is an hour and a half weekly program that uses music, drama, and storytelling to communicate the eternal truths of God’s Word. You’ll find that our children’s church parallels our adult service in many ways. We feature praise and worship, offering, ushers, altar ministry and Bible teaching. Students are encouraged to go and live out the truths of God’s Word every day!
Preschool Kids Service
Our Preschool classes go on a year-long journey through the Bible. In the summer, we start with Creation and follow God’s Story up to the birth of Jesus at Christmas time. Then we learn all about Jesus’ life as we head towards Easter. We end our journey learning about Jesus’s time on Earth before returning to Heaven. Each week we always talk about how we can pray and talk to God anytime and anywhere. The children learn that Jesus will always love them.
Children’s FOCUS Is a special time for students to Find, Own, Connect, Understand, and Serve in the body of Christ. Children’s FOCUS includes a time of praise and worship, small group discussions, and fun games and activities reinforcing the Sunday morning kid’s message. We have separate Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary FOCUS classes.
Wednesday Kid’s Ministries
(Ranger Kids and Discovery Rangers, K-5th grade)
It is the purpose of the Royal Rangers to “Reach, Teach and Keep boys for Jesus Christ.” It is our prayer to develop the total boy for Christ. He will explore and learn about his surrounding world and God’s Word through merit achievements, Bible study, outdoor activities, sports, and through service projects. Oh, and do not forget Pinewood Derby racing!
(Little Sweethearts, BlueBelles and JoyBelles, K-5th grade)
All girls grades K-5th are invited on Wednesday night to build friendships, earn merits and study God’s Word. They will do crafts, object lessons and journaling. We believe that by establishing a firm foundation in the faith of our children at an early age, they will seek to become virtuous women (Proverbs 31:10)
(High Praises K-5th grade, Cherub choir 2-5 yrs)
Children love to sing. What better way to develop this ability than in singing praises to Jesus. Each year High Praises hosts a Spring and Christmas Musical. During the summer, the kids showcase their God-given talents weekly in the Westmore’s Got Talent competition.
On Wednesdays our preschoolers review the lesson taught on Sunday of that week. They get a chance to help retell the stories with engaging hands on experiences.
Infants Birth – 23 months
Check-in at the Nursery
We believe that our babies are “Holy Seedlings” that need to be planted and nurtured in a warm loving environment. Our nursery volunteers provide quality care and are sensitive to the desires and concerns of new parents. In order to help families feel comfortable in leaving their child, we provide a visual paging system in the sanctuary for easy notification if parental assistance is needed.
Sunday Morning – 10:00 a.m.
Sunday Night FOCUS – 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday Night – 6:30 p.m.
Ages 2 – Pre-K
Check-in at the Preschool desk
Our preschoolers learn about God’s love for them from faithful leaders who share truths from the Bible each week. Our classes engage children’s minds, hearts, and senses through Bible stories, crafts, puppets, and activities. It is our desire to partner with you as parents to assist in your child’s faith journey during these years.

Is your child interested in Baptism? (click here)
Dear Parents or Guardian:
Your child has expressed interest in baptism. We typically do baptism on the second Sunday of each month. Prior to baptism there is about a 2 to 3-week process of preparation including the baptism testimony video we need to shoot 2 weeks before baptism. When we baptize our Westmore Children’s ministry kids, the baptism testimony video serves three great purposes:
- The process of preparing the video helps kids learn how to articulate their faith story,
- The video helps communicate their faith story to the church family and to any whom you show the video to like out of town family and friends, and
- the video is something they can keep forever to remember this faith defining moment and even share with their own children one day.
Imagine being able to show your children today a testimony video from your life when you were their age. This could be very powerful and formative in their life as it helps to secure their identity knowing that this is who we’ve been and this is who we are. We are the body of Christ.
Along with this letter there should be a baptism teaching guide you can review with them. We use this, along with the baptism testimony video, to teach other kids about baptism on the day your child is baptized. Also, there is a baptism video questionnaire sheet to go over with your child to help them articulate their faith story and prepare for the baptism video shoot.
You can email firstname.lastname@example.org and copy to email@example.com to schedule a baptism video shoot. This starts the process to prepare for baptism. We look forward to this great step of faith development in your child as they identity with the body of Christ through the sign of baptism.
