Westmore WomenGod has a great purpose for the women in His Kingdom!
God has a great purpose for women at Westmore. Throughout His ministry on Earth, Jesus encouraged women to fulfill their “holy assignments” and to be equal partners and partakers of His glory. Westmore is focused on encouraging women in their passion for God and to live out His divine plan for each of them. We seek to meet the spiritual and social needs of ladies of all ages, married and single, mothers, sisters and daughters, marketplace professionals and homemakers.
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.”
– Proverbs 31:25, ESV
“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.”
– Psalm 46:5, NIV
“Raised Together” Bible Study
“Raised Together” Bible study by Gloria Furman on the book of Colossians will be our next study for the September-October session. Paul’s letter to the church at Colossae encourages believers to live out the reality of the doctrine of Christ—He is God, He is supreme, and He is sufficient. We have been buried with Him and raised to life with Him as new creations, knit together in love. In 8 sessions, explore themes of fundamental Christian doctrine through verse-by-verse study of Colossians. Learn who Christ is, who you are in Him, and how to grow and mature in your faith. Join us on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in Room 005, Wolfe Drive location, facilitated by Sonia Griffey, beginning on September 5.
“Uninvited” Book Study
In this six-session video Bible study we will dig deep into God’s Word to explore the roots of rejection, the way other relationships get tainted because of a past rejection, and the truth about what it looks like to live loved. With biblical depth, gut-honest vulnerability, and refreshing wit, the author will take you on a visual journey in the Holy Land to some of the places where people of the Bible such as Hannah, David, and even Jesus lived and walked. We hope this study will help you to enter a place of healing and new perspective. Uninvited reminds us we are destined for a love that can never be diminished, tarnished, shaken, or taken—a love that does not reject or uninvite. Join our ladies for this study, facilitated by Megen Saez on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in Room 005, Wolfe Drive Location. Coming up on November7th!
Young Professional Women
Young Professional Women of Westmore is a small group of ladies who are in a similar place in life: hard-working, intelligent, kind, fun, leaders in our own right, followers of Christ, loving God and loving people, journeying together, growing deeper spiritually and relationally. This group meets on a flexible schedule twice a month on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in various locations. Our current book study is “Without Rival” by Lisa Bevere – it’s time to step forward to live a life of fullness without rival. Contact Vera Voznyuk for schedule and more info: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Living Proverbs 31
As women, we have a lot of responsibilities both in the family and in the marketplace. We try to be great at everything that’s on our plate – being outstanding mothers and wives, while pursuing careers and navigate through all the demands that come with that. Whether you are a married or a single woman, join us for a monthly fellowship, led by Richelle Shelton, where you will be encouraged and empowered to be the woman God created you to be. In the near future, we will explore several important subjects: self-care, work-life balance, working in a man’s world, etc. Our first meeting will take place on October 22 at 6:00 p.m. at Westmore Fellowship Hall (children’s area).
Bridge Builders Ladies
Led by Deb Gleason, this quarterly gathering is for the ladies of the Bridge Builders’ focus group as well as all who are interested, with an annual event or outing. The purpose being to get to know each other on a closer level outside a formal classroom/teaching setting. Enjoying fellowship, dining together, playing games together, and growing together. With our varied activity interests, we hope to connect others with like interests and form closer bonds among us.
Named after one of the previous Pastor’s wife, Enetha McClung, the Circle is made up of women of all ages. The Enetha Circle meets on the first Thursday of every month. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. with refreshments; the devotions and prayer time begin at 7 p.m. at the Williams Fellowship Hall, Wolfe Drive location. The Circle hosts two retreats each year, one in the spring, and one in the fall.
Every mother needs time dedicated to herself in order to recharge and connect with other women on a similar journey. This new group will focus on meeting the social and spiritual needs of mothers, regardless of whether their children are little of high school age. Join this sisterhood of women for monthly fun times of fellowship beginning on January 2019.
