WESTMORE’S REOPENING WITH CARE

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. I hear that Westmore has a “phased” reopening plan. What does that mean?

Pastor Kelvin, in consultation with a local advisory team comprised of medical experts and community leaders, have developed a strategic reopening plan based upon four (4) color-coded phases: RED, ORANGE, YELLOW and GREEN.

RED (“Restricted’): The red phase is the most restrictive phase and is reserved for a rare local outbreak within the church. The red phase requires that Westmore’s ministries transition to a digital-only format for a period of time.

ORANGE (“Elevated”): The orange phase is an elevated status that permits in-person gatherings, but only with extraordinary measures in place to mitigate the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Examples of these measures include, among other things: requiring that all staff, volunteers and attendees undergo pre-screening prior to entry; instituting social distancing protocols; and mandating that staff and volunteers wear face coverings, while strongly encouraging attendees to do the same.

YELLOW (“Guarded”): Although less restrictive than the orange phase, the yellow phase requires that heightened safety measures be employed to mitigate the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Examples include: continued pre-screening of staff and volunteers prior to entry; encouraging (but not mandating) social distancing and the wearing of face coverings; and the continued sanitization and cleaning of all ministry facilities via medical-grade processes. During the yellow phase, the Overview Room will remain available as a restricted space for viewing service where social distancing and the wearing of face coverings will be required.

GREEN (“Preventive”): The green phase is the least restrictive phase, allowing Westmore’s ministries to operate in as similar a way as possible to the way that it operated prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a renewed focus of preventative measures. These include: continuing comprehensive cleaning and sanitization protocols; encouraging continued safety precautions and best practices amongst staff, volunteers, and attendees; and ongoing analysis of health agency alerts to monitor for localized case spikes. NOTEEffective Sunday, October 2, 2021, and until further notice, Westmore will be operating under these GREEN protocols

As detailed above, each phase requires imposing an either more or less restrictive set of safety-related protocols on the way in which Westmore’s ministries are conducted. While Westmore leadership retains discretion to determine when to transition from one phase to the next, that decision is driven, in large part, by metrics related to average infection rates, active cases and deaths within our community over a specific period of time.

2. What does the Westmore’s service schedule look like under the GREEN protocols?

Prayer Service/Morning Worship: Westmore will offer two (2) morning service options: Morning Prayer Service (Westmore Family Room), beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by Morning Worship Service (Westmore Family Room), beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Small Groups/Discipleship: Westmore’s FOCUS (Sunday evening) and LEADS (Wednesday evening) small groups are meeting in both indoor and outdoor venues across Westmore’s campus or via Zoom. Until further notice, all services at Westmore will be conducted under the GREEN protocols.

3. Is Westmore still offering multiple service-viewing options?

Yes! There are still three (3) ways to participate in services at Westmore:

The Family Room (Sanctuary): Gather with the Westmore Family in the sanctuary for prayer service, morning worship and other special services. Under the GREEN protocols, social distancing and the wearing of face coverings throughout the facility, while not required, will continue to be strongly encouraged. Under the GREEN protocols, sanctuary seating will remain open (non-spaced). Ushers, as always, will be available to assist you in finding your preferred seating sections.

Overview Room (2nd Floor, Ministry Center): View service via remote broadcast in the Overview Room where social distancing and the wearing of face coverings will remain mandatory.

Online/Livestream: Participate in online services via our website at westmorechurch.com, through Facebook Live, or via our YouTube channel at youtube.com/westmorechurchofgod.

4. Do I have to wear a mask during service at Westmore?

Under the GREEEN protocols, the wearing of face coverings by staff, volunteers and attendees is strongly encouraged, but not mandatory.

5. Is social distancing required at Westmore?

For everyone’s safety, social distancing is strongly encouraged (but not required, unless otherwise designated by signage) throughout Westmore’s facilities, especially in spaces where services, class meetings or other gatherings are being held.

6. Do I have to have my temperature taken or be screened before entering a Westmore facility?

No. Local, state and federal health agencies are no longer suggesting the taking of temperature as an effective pre-screening requirement for attendees in closed settings, however, we would encourage all staff, volunteers and attendees to self-monitor and to stay home if you feel ill or have an elevated temperature.

7. Is the Westmore Café open?

Westmore’s full-service Café is open every Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.-6:15 p.m.; and Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.! For your safety, protective barriers and social distancing markers will remain in place while operating the Café under the GREEN protocols.

8. Who do I contact for additional information about Westmore’s reopening?
